Children Of Our Lord!

Sunday Mornings At Holt Road

Rotational Sunday School is an exciting way we study the Bible! In the Workshop Rotation method, the same Bible lesson is taught for 4 weeks. Each week, learners rotate to a different classroom. While the story remains the same, children encounter it in different ways. The lesson is reinforced in their memories, and the variety of experiences keeps interest high throughout the unit.

Our Sunday School starts at 9:45 with C.O.O.L. Music. Then children are dismissed to one of four workshops: 66 Books: Drama and Storytelling, Creation Cafe: Art, Avenue Mission Adventures: Missions activities VGC Studio: Videos, Games and Computers.

Check out COOL Worship following Sunday School!

COOL Worship! This is a special time just for children during our Sunday Morning Worship Celebration! We will be utilize KidMo Worship. We are excited about this time of celebration and learning for our children!

Christ's Headship

We acknowledge Christ as the head of our church and submit ourselves, and all our activities, to His will and good pleasure (Eph. 1:22-23)

Genuine Worship

We desire to acknowledge God's supreme value and worth in our personal lives and in the corporate worship of our church. (Rom. 12:1-2)

Prayer

We rely on private and corporate prayer in the conception, planning, and execution of all the ministries and activities of this church. (Matt. 7:7-11)

Service

We encourage our people to seek their spiritual gifts and to serve Christ from hearts of love and gratitude rather than guilt and condemnation. (Rom. 6:14) (Eph. 4:11-13)

Evangelism

We value unchurched, lost people and will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win, and disciple them. (Luke 19: 1 0)

Loving. Caring. Nurturing Relationships

We value the importance of relationships, both with God and with one another. We care for others and provide a safe haven for people who need unconditional acceptance. (Philippians 2:2-5, John 13:34-35)

Integrity

We aspire to be people of integrity in all that we say and do in order to glorify God and salt and light to the community. (Matthew 5:13-16)

Faithfulness

Through our faithfulness, we desire to avail ourselves of the gifts of God, submit ourselves to the obedience of God's commands, and abandon all thoughts of self, trusting only in God. (Proverbs 3 :5-6)

Need Jesus? - Need Jesus?

Perhaps even now, can you sense Jesus knocking on the door to your heart, to your life?

Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."(Revelation 3:20) Jesus said "anyone" and that means you, too, no matter where you are in your life now, and no matter what you may have done in the past.

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) Yes, God loves you with a love that is so great you cannot even imagine it. Yet even your tiniest infraction immediately separates you from fellowship with a Holy (sinless) God. You know the truth of this Bible passage, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) God's pure justice requires a penalty to be made for any sin. And the penalty for sin is eternal separation from God.

But our loving God is gracious and merciful ! He allowed for a sacrifice to be substituted for the penalty we deserve. What sacrifice could be so great as to cover all our sins? The Bible says, "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit" (1 Peter 3:18) Yes, God loves you so much He sent His Son Jesus to earth to die on a cross to pay the price for your sins and make a way for you to live forever with Him. "... we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son [Jesus Christ] ..." (Romans 5:10) "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all ..." (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

Thankfully, Jesus did not stay buried in a grave. He rose again after 3 days and is alive today in Spirit. Now, Jesus stands at the door to your heart with this free gift of forgiveness of your sins and eternal life in heaven. Will you humbly receive it?

Receiving the gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life is not complicated. It basically involves 5 steps. Read these steps and the following passages from the Bible. Then pray and accept Christ as your personal Savior and allow Him to be the Lord of your life.

Step #1 -- Believe in Jesus

This is not believing "about" Jesus. This is personal. It's about your heart. You must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he came to earth to die on a cross for you as the sacrifice for your sins.

"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
(John 3:17)

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
(Acts 16:31)

Step #2 -- Confess Your Sins

You must acknowledge that you are in fact a sinner and you want Jesus to wash your sins away and make you clean inside.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
(Romans 3:23)

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
(1 John 1:9 )

Step #3 -- Repent (Turn away from your sins)

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ..." (Acts 3:19)
"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel." (Mark 1:15)

Step #4 -- Accept the Gift of Salvation

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God."
(Ephesians 2:8)

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:"
(John 1:12)

"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation"
(2 Corinthians 6:2)

You can accept Jesus Christ into your life right now by praying something like the following:Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I have displeased you in many ways. Thank you for loving me enough to come to this earth and sacrifice your life to pay the penalty for my sins. I believe you are the Son of God and I repent of my sins and ask you to come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Help me learn how to please you in every part of my life. Thank you for your wonderful gift of forgiveness and eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen Congratulations! If you have just prayed this prayer, the following took place; your sins were forgiven (Colossians 1:14); you became a child of God (John 1:12); you were made heir to all of God's blessings (Romans 8:16-17); you now possess everlasting life (I John 5:12-13).

You became a Christian the moment that you received Christ into your life. Don't trust your feelings, for they will change; but take God at His Word and believe His promises. Review the above passages whenever doubts arise. You should be able to say with assurance, "I have received Christ. On the authority of God's Word, I have eternal life."

Jesus said, "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." We would like to celebrate with you in your decision. Please contact one of our staff!

Step #5 -- Confess Jesus Before Men

You must stand up and be identified with Christ. There are no secret Christians. Follow Christ's example in baptism.

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10 )

To keep building your new faith:Pray every day
It's not fancy, just talking to God like you would your best friend. If you would like someone to pray with you, please call our church and we will join with you in prayer Read the Bible every day
It's important to read from God's word regularly. You can use daily devotionals for inspiration. Get involved in a local church
It's important to be with others who believe the same things you do. Find a church near you so you can fellowship regularly with other Christians May God grant you "all joy and peace in believing"
